Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility Policy

1. Our Environmental Commitment

At PluriBrands, economic growth and environmental responsibility are not conflicting objectives—they are complementary. Since the beginning of our activity in 2015, logistical and operational efficiency has been a fundamental value. With the company's growth and expansion into European markets, this commitment has become even more structured and measurable.

This Sustainability Policy formalizes our practices, commitments, and objectives in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters, in line with the United Nations 2030 Agenda's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the European Green Deal.

2. Smart Logistics and Emission Reduction

PluriBrands is taking its first steps toward introducing logistical practices with lower environmental impact. While we do not yet have automated optimization systems, our business model naturally has a positive effect on emissions, and we are progressively building the conditions to go further:
  • Conscious Carrier Selection: our logistical partners are selected based not only on price and lead times but also on the efficiency of their networks and route coverage. Fewer unnecessary trips mean lower emissions per delivered order. In the future, we intend to incorporate carbon footprint criteria into our formal carrier evaluations;
  • Natural Consolidation through Volume: by operating with high volumes, our shipments are naturally consolidated into larger loads. This effect—which results directly from our business model rather than specific technology—translates into a real reduction in emissions per unit transported compared to the average of dispersed individual shipments;
  • Future Ambition – Optimization through Technology: we are building the foundations to progressively introduce logistical decision-support tools that consider energy and environmental efficiency criteria. The path is made by walking—and this is one of the improvement vectors we have in mind for the coming years;
  • Measurement and Transparency: we do not yet produce a formal emissions report. When we do, it will be based on real data and verified methodology—not as a branding exercise, but as a genuine commitment to measurable improvement.

3. Sustainable Packaging Policy

Packaging is a signature element for PluriBrands—our boxes are recognizable and purposefully designed. The principles guiding our packaging policy are:
  • Right-sizing: our packaging system calculates the ideal box size for each order, eliminating empty space and reducing the total volume of material used;
  • Recyclable Materials: all boxes and protective materials used by PluriBrands are made from recyclable materials (recycled corrugated cardboard, recycled tissue paper). We are working toward the progressive elimination of remaining plastic protective materials;
  • Design for Return: our boxes are designed to be reused by the Customer in case of a return, eliminating the need for additional packaging and reducing the impact of the reverse logistics process;
  • Digital Invoicing: PluriBrands operates in "paperless" mode for all billing documentation, which is issued and delivered exclusively via electronic means.

4. Low-Impact Warehouses and Facilities

The facilities inaugurated in 2024 represent a step forward compared to previous ones, with some concrete improvements already implemented and others underway:
  • Lighting: most operational areas use LED lighting, which reduces energy consumption compared to previous solutions;
  • Waste Management: we separate waste produced during operations — cardboard, plastic, and paper — for recycling. While we do not yet have an automated system, it is a practice we insist on maintaining daily;
  • Energy Efficiency: we monitor consumption and make operational decisions with this criterion in mind. The transition to renewable energy sources is a goal we aim to achieve as the company grows and conditions permit;
  • Continuous Improvement: we recognize that there is still a long way to go regarding our facilities. We did not start with a purpose-built facility designed for maximum sustainability — we start from where we are and improve realistically and consistently.

5. Social Sustainability and Governance

PluriBrands believes that a responsible company starts with its people. While we do not yet have formal structured social ESG programs, there are concrete practices that are non-negotiable in the way we operate:
  • Working Conditions: all employees have a formal labor contract and are compensated in accordance with current Portuguese labor legislation. We value a safe, respectful working environment with room for growth;
  • Supply Chain: we work with suppliers who respect the law and their workers. We do not yet have a formal social audit process for suppliers, but it is an area we intend to develop as our partnerships grow;
  • Transparency: our transparency policy is not just a page on the website—it is how we communicate with customers, solve problems, and take responsibility for mistakes. We do not yet publish a formal ESG report, but this sustainability policy is a first step in that direction.

6. Sustainability Goals — The Road Ahead

We do not set targets with dates and percentages that we cannot guarantee. Instead, we make directional commitments—what we want to build step by step:
  • In the short term: complete the transition to 100% recyclable or reusable packaging; consolidate waste separation throughout the entire operation; introduce environmental criteria in the formal selection of carriers;
  • In the medium term: evaluate the feasibility of renewable energy production at our facilities; develop a supplier assessment process with social and environmental responsibility criteria;
  • In the long term: produce a first sustainability report with real and verifiable data, once we have the maturity and the tools to do so with rigor. Not before.
